Retail chain Pets at Home has opened its 250th store after a £380,000 investment in an outlet at Trafford Park, Manchester.
Pets at Home, which has its headquarters in Handforth, Cheshire, and is planning to float on the stock market next year, will create 16 jobs at the new shop.
It will feature a pet adoption section where animals are cared for until a suitable home is found for them.
Pets at Home, headed by chief executive Matt Davies and owned by Bridgepoint Capital, opened its first store in Chester in 1991.
It has grown into a £400m-plus turnover business.
