Senior Category Manager

A truly exciting and unusually senior position has arisen with a vibrant and leading pet food company for an initially 6 months fixed term maternity leave contract. As a Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for identifying commercial opportunities and providing transparent, data lead category based arguments which ultimately deliver the financial and strategic objectives whilst providing customers with incremental growth opportunities. You will be responsible for leading the internal alignment to the business priorities and key marketing activities to ensure that exceptional commitments deliver the operational plan. Your excellent customer service and communication skills will enable you to provide visibility to key stake holders on the performance of the category strategy and its key commercial objectives enabling timely understanding on the effectiveness of the activities and with your excellent analytical skills you will be able to make recommendations on any required actions.

You must have proven FMCG commercial or category experience at HQ level, having worked with a top four multiple retailer in the UK. You would be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of category management techniques and have worked with IRI, TNS &/or Nielsen data. Your ability to think strategically, influence and convince others, along with your awareness and curiosity are of paramount importance.
