The rise of pet-friendly isn’t new, but finding venues which are the cream of the crop, and which truly embrace dogs at the same time, is still a source of frustration for many pet owners. Whether it’s a beautiful weekend break, or a sumptuous Sunday lunch, it’s no easy task finding a perfect spot.
All Four Paws fill that gap for dapper dogs and their discerning owners. The site is a lifestyle destination which brings together the very best of the UK’s pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, gastropubs and places to explore that will welcome four-legged friends with open paws.
Listings are packed with information, and the All Four Paws experience is designed to be as stylish as the venues and jaunts it describes. These aren’t just listings, though; the site is a comprehensive guide to the high-life with your pooch, where quality comes first; every destination requires Paws- approval before being accepted to join the site.
Big names who have already made the cut include the exclusive hotel Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, several of Rick Stein’s Cornwall venues, The Scarlet on the North Cornish coast, and Gordon Ramsay’s dog-friendly London set.
Since the arrival of her cocker spaniel three years ago, co-founder Nicky Burton has experienced the challenges of finding great pet-friendly places first-hand: “We want to take Rigby out and about with us whenever we can, and he’s made it clear he’d rather be by our side. We always look for venues that truly embrace dogs, while not skimping on life’s little luxuries, but these places aren’t easy to find.”
For consumers, the site takes the effort out of finding the very best places to eat, sleep and play with your pet. “It’s not as black and white as somewhere just being pet-friendly or not”, co-founder Sarah Williams explains. “If you’re taking your dog with you, you can’t simply rely on booking a room or a table online. We make sure our users have all the information they need so they know if a venue is a good fit for both them and their pet. They can then easily book venues directly through our site.”
Nicky’s spaniel, Rigby, was unavailable for comment, but assures us he is relishing his new role as the nation’s most in-demand canine reviewer.
