Bestpets has opened its doors once more to new customer registrations for pet businesses wishing to use its cash and carry service.

This comes after the business implemented social distancing measures to keep staff and customers safe in depots.

Bestway Wholesale managing director Dawood Pervez explains: “This is largely down to the wonderful team we have in place, and the actions taken to enable social distancing in our depots and looking after our colleagues safely. As a result, our absence due to coronavirus is now below 6%, which means we have capacity now to supply new customers.”

With pet businesses providing a vital lifeline to communities looking after their pets, and with consumers perhaps not wanting to visit larger retail stores, online and small independent businesses have never been more pivotal to societies.

Pervez adds: “When the lockdown is lessened, we know many pet businesses will be very busy providing food and accessories to customers, alongside giving invaluable advice and information about general pet care while people try and get back to some form of normality, and, for this reason, we are enabling new pet customers to register with us now, so that they come to depots to buy stock both now and in the future.

“We have also introduced an incentive bonus to compensate our awesome customer-facing colleagues and thank them for their hard work and commitment. The bonus will reward customer-facing colleagues with 10% additional pay for their hours worked backdated to the start of the coronavirus outbreak in March.”
