He will form a key part of their annual campaign to help pets cope
Award-winning herbal pet care experts at Dorwest Herbs are delighted to announce their partnership with accredited dog behaviourist and trainer, Adem Fehmi (aka Dogtor Adem), supporting their annual campaign helping to calm anxiety in pets due to loud noises, including fireworks.
Adem has over 20 years’ experience working with dogs, gaining his degree in Animal Science before becoming a well renowned Canine Behaviourist and Trainer. He is accredited by the Canine & Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA), a ‘Kids Around Dogs Approved’ professional, and also an Assessor and Volunteer for Pets as Therapy.
Passionate about improving the wellbeing of dogs, Adem says: “Dorwest shares my absolute passion for helping dogs to live their best, happiest, and healthiest lives possible. Alongside behaviour training, calming herbal supplements can help dogs stay relaxed and focused by supporting their nervous system. Over time they can also help create positive associations with situations that might otherwise have induced stress or anxiety.”
Year on year firework events have become more popular and widespread, which can cause upset to pets everywhere. With 57% of households now owning a pet (Statistica 2023), the experts in herbal pet care at Dorwest help prepare pets with calming natural remedies for general anxieties, including:
- Scullcap & Valerian Tablets - with active herbs naturally supporting the calming pathways within the nervous system; reducing anxiety without immobilising muscles or causing drowsiness.
- Valerian Compound - Containing pure extracts of three herbs in liquid form, it acts within just 30 minutes, with calming effects lasting for up to two hours.
Dorwest’s calming campaign for fireworks runs this year from 29th September to 5th November, and annually conveys ways to keep pets calm and stress-free during fireworks season. Adem will be sharing his expertise throughout the campaign, providing practical advice on spotting signs of stress in dogs and simple steps owners can take to keep them calm this fireworks season. His top tips include exercising dogs early in the day, setting up a safe and relaxing area, using herbal support alongside training, and playing calming music to mask firework noise.
Managing Director at Dorwest, Jo Boughton-White, states: “We’re thrilled to be working with Adem, who brings both professional expertise and a real passion for helping pets and their owners. His trusted voice as an accredited behaviourist is the perfect fit for our fireworks campaign, and we’re excited for pet owners to benefit from his practical tips and advice.”
