Urban Pup is delighted to announce that they have signed a licensing agreement with the creators of Wallace & Gromit, Aardman studios, a multi-award-winning independent animation studio, to produce a range of Wallace & Gromit dog raincoats and accessories featuring patterns inspired by the beloved characters.
The range includes a Gromit raincoat, harness, bandana, collar & lead, and Wallace sweater — the same sweater that Wallace wears, including tie!
Denis Kelly, Managing Director of Urban Pup says: “When we were first asked to design a range of Wallace & Gromit themed raincoats and accessories, we were beyond excited to have the opportunity to translate the iconic clothes and accessories from the show into something man and woman’s best friend could actually wear and would be instantly recognisable as cornerstones of Wallace & Gromit.
“We took inspiration for the outfits from the many adventures of Wallace & Gromit. You will recognise Gromit’s raincoat and sou’wester from ‘The Wrong Trousers.’ After feeling rejected by Wallace, Gromit packed his belongings and left home, but he didn’t want to get wet, so on went his raincoat and sou’wester. This is the only time Gromit is seen wearing a coat, so we thought it was only right to do our best to bring it to life.
“The Wallace & Gromit inspired range is practical as well as fashionable and is in keeping with the Urban Pup ‘Partners in Fashion’ ethos. Who thought anyone would ever say that about Wallace! We cannot wait for the launch of these items and to see our ranges on dogs all around the world.
