The sibling-run company, The Little Dog Laughed, secured a national retail industry award for its folding dog travel bowl, beating finalists from major brands and organisations across the UK.

Designed with convenience in mind, the pocket-sized travel bowl folds down for easy carrying while remaining large enough for dogs of all shapes and sizes to drink comfortably.

Featuring a waterproof lining and washable, water-resistant outer fabric, it was extensively tested by the company's own canine product team before earning the approval of the Gift of the Year judging panel.

The award marks a significant milestone for the Derby-based business, as the travel bowl is the first practical pet accessory product the company has developed under its own name.

"We genuinely didn't expect to win. As a small sibling-run business from Derby, to be recognised alongside nationally known brands and then come away with the top award is incredibly special. It's a huge boost for us and reinforces our belief that thoughtful, genuinely useful products for dog lovers can compete on a national stage," said Director, Gavin Smith.

The latest success means The Little Dog Laughed can now boast two Gift of the Year Award wins and two highly commended products across its range.

The family business has built a loyal following through products inspired by the personalities and quirks of dogs, particularly rescue dogs. Its partnership with Dogs Trust led to the creation of the fundraising book, A Dog's Life, which has raised more than £25,000 to support the charity's work caring for and rehoming dogs across the UK.

The company hopes the award will give retailers additional confidence in its growing pet accessories collection.
